Why send a jacket to the UK?

Specialist wax-jacket cleaning can be difficult to find locally

Many European customers can find businesses that apply fresh wax, but far fewer services clean the complete waxed-cotton garment before re-waxing it. That difference matters when a jacket has stale odours, ingrained dirt, mould, lining contamination, damage or years of old wax.

Wax Jackets Cleaned offers an international postal service for customers who cannot find suitable specialist aftercare in their own country. Garments are assessed individually and can receive cleaning, hand re-waxing, repairs, alterations or more involved restoration as required.

One service, several types of work

What European customers can request

Clearly list every requested service and repair on the Owner Send-In Form included inside the parcel.

01

Specialist cleaning

Gentle cleaning inside and outside to address dirt, smells, mould and contamination without treating waxed cotton like ordinary clothing.

02

Professional re-waxing

The selected finish is applied by hand after cleaning. Standard, fashion or heavier wax options may be available depending on the garment and intended use.

03

Repairs and alterations

Worn cuffs, damaged linings, pockets, seams, zips and other repair needs can be assessed separately after the garment arrives.

04

Vintage restoration

Older, historic and long-stored waxed garments can be assessed with the aim of returning them to a clean, stable and wearable condition where practical.

Indicative return-delivery guide

Example shipping prices from the UK

The amounts below are retained from the current European service page as a general guide to returning a completed parcel from Wax Jackets Cleaned. They are not fixed quotations and may change when the carrier recalculates the route. They are also subject to exchange rates changes.

Germany£15
Italy£20
Spain£25
France£18
Republic of Ireland£20
Austria£28
Sweden£28
Denmark£14
Netherlands£15

Please confirm the current price before relying on these examples. A larger, heavier or differently shaped parcel may cost more. Remote-area surcharges and changes in carrier pricing can also affect the final amount. Israel is included because it appears in the existing international price guide, although it is not geographically part of Europe.

The international sending procedure

Five steps from your country to Wax Jackets Cleaned

Use a reliable tracked service and keep every receipt, tracking number and customs document until the garment has been safely received and returned.

1

Read the information

Check the current prices, service limitations and wax-finish guidance before packing the garment.

2

Complete the form

Include the Owner Send-In Form with your full contact details, return address and requested work.

3

Pack securely

Empty every pocket, protect the garment and use strong weather-resistant outer packaging.

4

Use tracked delivery

Choose a service that records direct delivery. Do not authorise a safe place or neighbouring post room.

5

Keep all evidence

Retain proof of posting, tracking and customs paperwork until Wax Jackets Cleaned confirms safe receipt.

The parcel must be handed directly to Wax Jackets Cleaned at Unit K.

A parcel left in a safe place, neighbouring post room or another unit may not reach us. Wax Jackets Cleaned cannot accept responsibility for an item that has not been handed directly to us.

Important international conditions

Postage, customs, communication and timing

Courier responsibility

Loss, theft, damage and misdelivery

Wax Jackets Cleaned cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft, damage, delay or misdelivery caused by a postal operator or courier. Compensation remains subject to the carrier’s service and claim terms.

Address details

Check the return address carefully

We use the return information supplied by the customer. Check the name, street, postcode, region, country, email address and telephone number before submitting the form.

Customs

Declarations and import charges

Customers are responsible for completing accurate customs paperwork and checking the rules that apply in their own country. Duties, taxes, handling charges or import fees may be payable and are not included in the cleaning or return-delivery price.

Communication

International correspondence is by email

Wax Jackets Cleaned does not normally telephone international customers. Ensure the email address on the form is correct and check junk or spam folders while the garment is with us.

Workshop time

Allow up to four weeks

The current European page advises allowing up to four weeks from receipt for the requested work to be completed. Complex repairs or unusual condition issues may affect the timescale.

Return journey

Allow additional delivery time

Some European routes may arrive in approximately four to seven working days, but customers should allow around five to ten working days after dispatch depending on the destination and customs handling.

Realistic restoration expectations

Clean and professionally re-waxed—not returned as a new garment

Waxed cotton changes with age, wear, colour, storage and previous treatment. The aim is the best safe, wearable result for the individual garment.

Some stains may remain

The cleaning process is deliberately gentle. Most garments clean extremely well, but permanent stains, fading, corrosion marks or historic damage cannot always be removed safely.

Colour may change

Some garments change colour slightly and others change more noticeably. Wax dressing is neutral and does not contain coloured dye, but fresh wax normally deepens the appearance of the fabric.

Modern finishes cannot always be recreated

Special factory coatings and fashion finishes used on some modern waxed-cotton garments may not be possible to reproduce exactly during later aftercare.

No 100% waterproof guarantee

Wax Jackets Cleaned does not guarantee that a jacket or pair of trousers will be completely waterproof. Tell us how you intend to use the garment so the most suitable practical finish can be considered.

Fresh wax can transfer

Waxed jackets are outdoor garments. Fresh dressing can transfer onto upholstery, vehicle interiors and other fabrics, particularly soon after re-waxing.

The initial finish may feel sticky

Some garments feel stickier than others immediately after treatment. This normally settles as the jacket is worn and the dressing distributes through the fabric.

International payment

Payment is requested when the work is complete

The final amount may include cleaning, the chosen wax finish, agreed repairs, return delivery and any additional insurance requested before dispatch.

PayPal

International customers may pay by PayPal. Any currency conversion, payment-provider fee or card charge is controlled by the customer’s own provider and is separate from the Wax Jackets Cleaned invoice.

Direct bank transfer

Direct bank transfer may also be available. The customer is responsible for ensuring the full invoiced amount arrives after any sending-bank, receiving-bank or currency-conversion charges.

European service questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I send a wax jacket from any European country?

The service is available internationally, subject to the postal, courier and customs rules that apply to the route. Contact Wax Jackets Cleaned when your country is not included in the example price guide.

Are the country prices guaranteed?

No. They are indicative return-delivery examples based on a small parcel under 2kg and approximately 45 x 35 x 10cm. The actual carrier price can change.

Will you contact me by telephone?

International communication is normally handled by email. Use an email address you monitor regularly and check spam or junk folders while the garment is being processed.

Can every stain and smell be removed?

Odours and contamination can often be greatly improved or removed, but no responsible cleaner can guarantee the removal of every permanent stain without risking damage to the garment.

Will the jacket be completely waterproof?

No 100% waterproof guarantee is given. Re-waxing improves the practical water resistance of suitable waxed cotton, but seams, wear, construction and previous damage all affect performance.

Who pays customs charges?

The customer is responsible for any duties, taxes, handling charges or import fees imposed by a government, postal operator or courier in either direction.
