Wax Jacket Cleaning, Re-Waxing & Repairs for All Brands
Barbour may be the best-known name, but our workshop has handled waxed jackets, coats and riding garments from dozens of manufacturers. From British country clothing and classic motorcycle jackets to Australian drover coats, American tin cloth and modern designer waxed cotton, the label rarely surprises us.
What wax jacket manufacturer have we not worked on?
After years devoted to waxed-cotton aftercare, that is sometimes easier to answer than listing every label that has arrived at the workshop. We have seen famous British names, specialist country brands, motorcycle clothing, fashion labels, workwear and manufacturers that stopped trading decades ago.
Your brand does not need to be listed below. If the garment is made from suitable waxed cotton, send us photographs of the jacket and its care labels. We will look at the garment itself, not simply the badge sewn inside it.
Specialist aftercare for much more than Barbour
These are some of the names most closely associated with the waxed garments we clean, reproof, repair and restore. Every item is still assessed individually for fabric, age, colour, construction, damage and previous treatment.
Barbour wax jackets
For Barbour owners we have a dedicated page covering complete cleaning, re-waxing, repairs and restoration, including modern and vintage jackets such as the International, Beaufort, Bedale and Border.
Belstaff wax jackets
We regularly work with classic and modern Belstaff garments, including Trialmaster, Roadmaster, Fieldmaster and Sammy Miller styles affected by wear, dirt, mould, stale odour or years of storage.
Filson waxed cotton
Heavy-duty Filson waxed garments, including Tin Cloth and other hard-wearing outerwear, can be assessed for specialist cleaning, reproofing and practical repairs.
Driza-Bone coats
Australian Driza-Bone riding and drover coats—including long Stockman-style garments—often arrive with heavy wear, ingrained dirt, strong storage smells or mould requiring a complete service.
John Partridge jackets
Both vintage and later John Partridge waxed-cotton garments can be assessed, with careful attention paid to their original character, lining, colour and construction.
Musto wax jackets
Musto country and sailing heritage includes waxed outerwear as well as technical fabrics. Suitable waxed-cotton examples can receive our inside-and-out cleaning and hand re-waxing process.
Dubarry wax jackets
Selected Dubarry waxed-cotton coats and jackets can be assessed for cleaning, reproofing and repair. We also record Dubarry separately on our manufacturer-recognition page.
Oxford Blue jackets
Oxford Blue country jackets and coats are among the labels associated with our specialist aftercare work. Ageing wax, dirty linings, worn edges and repairs can be handled together.
Private White V.C.
Manchester-made outerwear may use specialist British cloths and constructions. Suitable waxed-cotton pieces are assessed individually before cleaning, re-waxing or repair work begins.
Universal Works
Modern waxed-cotton garments from Universal Works can be treated according to the specific fabric, colour and finish rather than relying on a one-method-fits-all approach.
Country clothing brands
We see practical waxed outerwear from labels such as Hoggs of Fife, Jack Murphy, Walker & Hawkes, New Forest and other countryside clothing manufacturers.
Vintage & unknown makers
A missing, faded or unfamiliar label is not a reason to discard a jacket. Older motorcycle, military-inspired, workwear and country garments can often still be identified and honestly assessed.
Labels photographed on jackets we have personally worked on
These are photographs taken from actual garments received by Wax Jackets Cleaned—not a collection of logos copied from manufacturers’ websites.

Country, motorcycle, workwear and fashion waxed cotton
The manufacturer matters, but so do the fabric, intended use and way the garment has aged. Our experience is not confined to one style of wax jacket.
Field & country jackets
Shooting, farming, equestrian, walking and everyday country garments, from short field jackets to full-length riding coats.
Classic motorcycle jackets
Belstaff-style trials jackets, belted four-pocket coats and vintage motorcycling garments with decades of use and character.
Heavy-duty waxed clothing
American tin cloth, Australian drover coats and practical garments designed for hard work, harsh weather and long service.
Modern designer waxed cotton
Lighter, fashion-led finishes and contemporary constructions that require assessment before an appropriate treatment is selected.
What we can do for your wax jacket
Fresh wax should not be used to seal dirt, perspiration and stale odours into a garment. Our service starts with the complete jacket.
Inside-and-out cleaning
The lining, pockets, collar and waxed outer are cleaned before any fresh dressing is applied.
Odour & mould treatment
Specialist help for damp storage smells, smoke, perspiration, mustiness and visible mould.
Hand re-waxing
An appropriate professional wax finish is applied by hand after cleaning and assessment.
Repairs & restoration
Cuffs, linings, zips, pockets, hems, tears and complex worn areas can be assessed for repair.

Wax jacket brand FAQs
Do you only clean Barbour wax jackets?
No. Barbour is only one of dozens of manufacturers whose garments we have encountered. We work with suitable waxed-cotton clothing from British, European, American, Australian and other international brands, as well as vintage garments with unknown or discontinued labels.
Can you clean a Belstaff, Filson or Driza-Bone jacket?
Yes, suitable waxed-cotton garments from Belstaff, Filson and Driza-Bone can be assessed for complete inside-and-out cleaning, re-waxing, odour or mould treatment and repairs. The precise treatment depends on the individual garment.
What if my wax jacket brand is not listed?
Send photographs of the front, back, lining and all manufacturer and care labels. The brand list is not exhaustive, and a missing or unfamiliar name does not automatically prevent us from helping.
Can you clean a vintage wax jacket when the manufacturer no longer exists?
Often, yes. Vintage and discontinued garments are assessed according to their fabric, age, condition, colour and construction. Repair options also depend on whether suitable materials and components are available.
Do you clean the inside as well as the waxed outer?
Yes. Our complete process cleans the lining, pockets, collar areas and outer garment before fresh wax is applied. We do not offer a re-wax-only service over an uncleaned jacket.
Can you remove mould or strong smells from any brand of wax jacket?
Many mouldy, musty, smoky or badly stored wax jackets can be improved substantially and made wearable again. Results depend on the contamination, fabric damage and garment history, so every item must be assessed individually.
Can you repair wax jackets from brands other than Barbour?
Yes. Repairs are not limited to Barbour. We can assess cuffs, sleeves, linings, zips, pockets, hems, seams, tears and other damage on many waxed-cotton brands, subject to construction and material availability.
Does listing a brand mean you are approved by or affiliated with it?
No. Brand names identify garments customers may send to our independent specialist service. Unless expressly explained on our separate manufacturer-recognition page, a mention does not claim affiliation, authorisation, endorsement or warranty status.
Whatever the label, let us see the jacket
Send clear photographs if you are unsure about the fabric, condition or repairs. Otherwise, read the latest information, complete the Owner Send-In Form and prepare your garment for tracked delivery to the workshop.
